I may examine dozens of fallen hardwoods before finding one with the character, proportion, and natural form worthy of becoming a Frog Hollow Studio piece. Most are left exactly where they are.

Once selected, the refinement begins. Every cut, every curve, every surface, and every finish is considered with care. The goal is never to impose a design, but to reveal what nature has already created.

The materials surrounding the wood receive the same attention. Substantial steel bases, premium finishes, and carefully chosen proportions are selected to complement the work without competing for it.

The result is a piece that celebrates both the artistry of nature and the discipline of craftsmanship.

Before the first cut is made, I spend time understanding the wood. Every curve, void, and grain pattern helps determine the direction of the finished piece.

Refine

Every surface is shaped, sanded, and finished with care. The process continues until the piece feels complete-not simply finished.

Private commissions begin with a conversation about your space, your vision, and the character of the wood. I work with exceptional reclaimed Texas hardwoods—or, when possible, a fallen or no-longer-living tree from your own property—to create one-of-a-kind sculptures, lighting, and furniture.
